Visiting Normobaric Wellness Centre for the first time? Here are 10 of the most common questions.
10 First Time Oxygen Therapy Questions Visitor Asks
Trying something new always comes with questions.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed hundreds of first-time visitors, and while every person is different, many of the same questions come up again and again.
If you’ve booked your first visit—or you’re thinking about it—here are the answers to the questions we hear most often.
1. Will My Ears Pop?
Because our chamber is lightly pressurized, some visitors notice a slight change in pressure, similar to what you may experience during takeoff or landing on a commercial flight.
Most people adjust quickly, and our team is happy to explain simple techniques that can help if needed.
2. What Should I Wear?
Comfortable clothing is all you need.
There’s no special outfit required.
The goal is simply to help you feel relaxed throughout your session.
3. Why Do I Need to Arrive 15 Minutes Early?
Our chamber operates on scheduled two-hour sessions.
Everyone enters before the session begins, and once the chamber is closed, it remains closed until the session has finished.
Arriving 15 minutes early gives you time to check in and helps ensure you don’t miss your scheduled session if you’re delayed by traffic or parking.
4. Can I Bring My Phone or a Book?
No.
At Normobaric Wellness Centre, we intentionally create a distraction-free environment.
Instead of spending two hours scrolling through your phone or reading, we encourage visitors to slow down, focus on their breathing, and enjoy dedicated time away from everyday distractions.
5. Can I Fall Asleep?
You certainly can, and some visitors become so relaxed that they do.
However, we encourage everyone to stay awake whenever possible so they can focus on their breathing and make the most of their dedicated relaxation time.
6. Why Are Sessions Two Hours Long?
Our chamber is designed to operate in scheduled two-hour sessions.
This allows us to maintain a consistent environment throughout the visit while giving visitors time to settle in, relax, and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
7. Is the First Session Really Complimentary?
Yes.
Eligible first-time visitors receive one complimentary introductory session.
We believe the best way to understand the experience is to experience it yourself before deciding whether you’d like to continue.
8. What If I’m Running Late?
If you think you’ll be late, please call us as soon as possible.
We’ll always do our best to help, but once the chamber session has begun, we can’t reopen the chamber to admit additional visitors.
9. What Happens During the Session?
Most visitors simply relax, focus on their breathing, and enjoy some quiet time.
Many people tell us it’s one of the few opportunities they have to completely disconnect from the demands of everyday life.
10. What If I Still Have Questions?
That’s what we’re here for.
Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, we’re always happy to answer questions before, during, or after your appointment.
We want every visitor to feel informed, comfortable, and confident before beginning their session.
Still Curious?
If you have a question that isn’t answered here, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Our team is always happy to help explain how our sessions work and what you can expect before your visit.
No question is too small—we’d much rather answer it before your appointment so you can arrive feeling comfortable and prepared.
